What To Do If You Drop Your iPhone In Water

The biggest enemy of electronics is water. No doubt about that. Even if your iPhone, iPad or iPod falls into the water there’s still a chance of saving it. There are simple steps for your phone, tablet etc. Personally I believe it is worth to come to Apple store and have it checked by experts. You will not be the first or the last person with this problem.

When phone falls into the water, take it our as soon as possible.

Do not shake the phone because as you could make it even worse.

Dry the surface of the phone with a cloth or paper towel.

Take some uncooked rice and pour it into a bag or into a bowl.

Place your phone in plastic bag or bowl with rice and make sure whole phone is “hidden” in the rice.

Leave it for 24-48 hours. Then you should take it out of the rice and try turn the device on. If anything happen to any part and you will use it anyway then there is a big chance that your device will die soon or later. So if you wanna be 100% sure that your phone will work well for long time and not only for few months then I recomment to bring phone in bag with rice to the service.

If you decide not to give your phone to service leave it for at least 48 hours in a rice and then try to turn it on. Once your phone actually start to work and everything seems ok you can try to connect to the charger.

Good Luck!

How to Remove Blood Stains

One of the most frequent stains are blood stain especially when we’re talking about children. If you do not want to buy a special cleaning products that will guarantee 100% success with any type of stain then following lines are just for you.

Cold Water

You have to always use cold water. Never wash blood stains with warm water. Hot water causes just clotting blood.

In washing machine wash blood stain at 40 degrees. Do not use higher temperatures again you could make it only worse.

First apply cold or lukewarm water to the stain, leave it for at least one hour and then sprinkle with salt and again leave for about one hour and then remove salt and wash with lukewarm water again. You can repeat the procedure until the stain is removed.

Ideal is to suck up water with a vacuum cleaner for carpet cleaning. If you do not have it you can try dry cotton cloth and suck up most of water. This procedure is quite time-consuming so it requires patience.

How to Clean LCD Display

LCD display on the desktop monitor or laptop can get dirty from different stains and fingerprints. What is most suitable cleaning way?

Displays in monitors or laptops cannot be cleaned with chemically aggressive cleaning products or products for classical old monitors. This could damage anti-reflective layer on the surface of the monitor. Never force cleaning of your monitor.

Clean it like professionals: Add a little bit of washing liquid to lukewarm water, mix it and with with micro fiber cloth gently clean your display. With such a cloth you will be able to remove the fiercest spots without any pressure. When you think that display is clean enough just wipe it gently with a dry paper towel.

If you do not dare to use even bit of washing liquid then try water with vinegar 50/50.

There are of course cleaning products – sprays only for LCD screens so if you will choose one of these ways you should be fine!

Never use paper towels, toilet paper or anything else. Just micro fiber cloth. Even paper can scratch the monitor.

Do not use cleaning products with ammonia or alcohol.
For your phone: Use only water!

How to Ventilate at Home

According to the surveys we spend 90% of our time in the indoors. More than half of that time at home. So we definitely should care about air we breathe there. When we wash, cook or dry clothes at home our place is getting wet and it can have wrong affect to our health.

It is interesting that lower temperature means higher humidity. Why is good air quality important? It helps to concentrate to work and be relaxed. When there is a bad air in the room then more people are tired or annoyed. For good quality air just follow few simple rules!

1. Ventilate three times a day

Especially in the bathroom, kitchen and bedroom where the humidity is obviously high.

2. Close the bathroom doors

If you close door in the bathroom all humidity will stay there and will not get into other parts of your home. After taking a shower wipe down all walls, floor and open the window.

3. Ventilate quickly but often

Better than opening windows for a long time is to do it for short time and more often.

4. Do not dry clothes in the apartment

If you can dry your clothes somewhere else do it. It is much better.

5. Furniture

If you can try not to have furniture right next to wall. More space between furniture and walls will cause less humidity.

6. Cook with lids

Use lids while cooking. It is not just because of the less humidity but you will also save energy and your meal will be prepared faster.

What to Do With Shrunken Clothes

We all experienced this. By mistake you throw some woolen sweater or a nice blouse in the washich machine and when you take it out it is a hardly a size for a five year old child. But there is a chance to make this better!

Baby shampoo and conditioner

Do not lose your heart even with shrunken clothes you can do miracles or at least try! It is not difficult at all. For your new miniatures prepare a cold bath and for every liter of water add a tablespoon of children’s shampoo or conditioner. Then  gently wash and wring and let dry naturally. Do not hang on a hanger but place on a dry towel which draws water into itself and place in a cool place.

If the baby shampoo was not working prepare a bath with lukewarm water and wash for ten minutes. Then wash again but this time add vinegar.

I wish you good luck!

Things Made From Recycled Material

Pet bottles are made of bottles again and for they are used for interiors for cars, filling for sleeping bags and jackets, fleece sweatshirt etc.

From mixed plastics (films, bags, various plastic packaging such as from shampoos, yogurt cups) are produced noise barriers along the highway or materials that resemble wood. Of mixed plastics are also produced benches, decks, playgrounds, windows or even plastic roofing.

Most glass bottles are made partly of already recycled bottles. From recycled glass are made glass for drinks and vases or decorative glass things.

From beverage cartons is made paper because is has cellulose fibre of good quality which means it can be recycled for several times. Recycling of beverage cartons are also used for building board for family houses.

Isn’t it amazing?
